An Orange County man was arrested at his Westminster home on 19 felony counts of insurance fraud.
On Feb. 1, 2001, Nasir Husain, 59, allegedly informed his supervisor at Johnson Controls Inc. that while working on an air conditioner at Whittier College in September of 2000, he fell and injured his back.
In a deposition in May 2001, Husain stated he told several people including two physicians he had sustained an industrial injury on Sept. 27, 2000.
According to medical records from the two physicians, Husain allegedly injured his back while washing his feet in a kitchen sink. Other alleged witnesses reported no knowledge of Husain’s industrial injury. Johnson Controls Inc., a self- insured company, paid a total of $24,464 on Husain’s alleged fraudulent workers’ comp claim.
