Investigators in Delaware continue to look into the cause of fires that damaged three new model homes in a development outside Milton.
The State Fire Marshal’s Office has not yet labeled the fires arson. The blazes broke out early Friday morning, and damage has been estimated at $600,000.
Assistant State Fire Marshal Richard Ward says investigators are working hard to determine a cause.
A spokeswoman for Schell Brothers, which built the homes, says the company is concerned about what appears to be a pattern of arsons emerging in Sussex County. Nonetheless, the company is continuing with a planned promotional event at the development this weekend.
On April 13, fire struck two homes under construction in the Milton area. One of those blazes was ruled Arson. A hotel under construction in Milford was destroyed by fire the same day.
