New Hampshire’s governor is requesting that an emergency be declared for the entire state for federal aid to help clean up from the weekend’s snowstorm that dumped more than 30 inches of snow on parts of the state, causing widespread power outages.
Gov. John Lynch said on Monday, Oct. 31, that the historic October storm produced record levels of snow creating 315,000 power outages at the storm’s peak, making it the third worst in the state’s history.
He said the disaster declaration will help ensure that the state has sufficient shelter supplies and can recover from the storm as soon as possible.
