Preferred Concepts LLC, a national insurance program administrator and specialty broker, appointed Jay Sheehan as senior vice president of Preferred Advantage, the firm’s specialty brokerage division.
Sheehan will be based in Preferred’s Hartford, Conn., office where he will direct national professional liability operations for the firm. He reports to Christopher Treanor, president of Preferred Concepts.
Sheehan has over 14 years’ experience in the insurance industry and has held senior brokerage positions in various firms, including Marsh & McLennan, S.H. Smith, and most recently R-T Specialty, where he spearheaded the transactional risk practice group and served as a senior broker in the executive liability practice. He is an admitted member of the Massachusetts Bar.
Founded in 1989, Preferred Concepts is an insurance program administrator and wholesale broker. It has offices in New York, Connecticut, Georgia and Kansas.
The firm’s operating divisions include: Preferred Underwriting, a program administrator specializing in real estate and hospitality risks; Preferred Brokerage, specialty brokerage services; Preferred Advantage, professional liability services for risks and small business P/C insurance; ezumbrella.com, an online umbrella liability platform; and SeaFire Insurance Services, an auto risk coverage provider for auto dealers and repair shops.
