Connecticut Light & Power has told state regulators that nearly 20,000 customers were without power on July 1 as strong winds and lightning brought down tree limbs.
In a statement filed with the state Public Utilities Regulatory Authority on Monday, the Northeast Utilities subsidiary said outages peaked at 2 p.m. on July 1 when 13,907 customers were without service. It said power was interrupted to a total of 19,990 customers.
The last customers were restored by 8 a.m. on July 2.
CL&P said it is providing the information instead of a major storm report. The utility serves about 1.2 million customers.
