The McGowan Companies, based in Fairview Park, Ohio, has purchased the assets of Klein Insurance Services Inc. (KIS) in Montclair, N.J. KIS will begin operating under the McGowan Program Administrators (“MPA”) brand.
Established in 1991, KIS provides property and umbrella insurance programs to the hospitality industry. The McGowan Companies said KIS fits well with McGowan’s growth strategy in the hospitality segment.
The McGowan Companies said KIS’ New Jersey operations will form the heart of McGowan’s new “MPA – Hospitality” Division. It will be dedicated to writing insurance for all classes of hotels, from limited-service hotels to luxury resorts and casinos.
