Chesapeake Employers’ Insurance Company, Maryland’s largest writer of workers’ compensation insurance, announced the following four promotions.
Joan Adelman was recently promoted to assistant vice president of Legal Services. In addition to continuing to practice before the Workers’ Compensation Commission, Adelman is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Legal department, including supervision of attorneys. Adelman also oversees the Legal department’s appellate practice. Prior to her new position, Adelman was director of Legal Services. She joined Chesapeake Employers in 1998.
Brian Furr was recently promoted to assistant vice president of Legal Services-Special Investigations Unit (SIU) and Premium Audit. Furr is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the SIU and Premium Audit departments. Prior to his new position, Furr was the director of Maryland Claims, including the State Employees Risk Management Administration (SERMA) function. Before that, he was director of Health Services. He joined Chesapeake Employers in 1992.
Tammy Wescott was recently promoted to director of Claims, State of Maryland, for Chesapeake Employers. Wescott is responsible for managing the State of Maryland claims, implementing the operational strategy for the State Claims department, continuing to foster good relationships with state agencies, and working with the State Employee Risk Management Administration (SERMA). Prior to her new position, Wescott was a Claims Supervisor. She joined Chesapeake Employers in 2007.
Kallie Shrader was recently promoted to director of Business Advisory Services. Shrader is responsible for analyzing workload metrics and business plans in conjunction with the company’s strategic plan. Prior to her new position, Shrader was senior business advisor. She joined Chesapeake Employers in 1999.
