The Mechanic Group Appoints Chieppo Practice Leader
The Mechanic Group, a division of Specialty Program Group LLC (SPG) headquartered in Pearl River, New York, appointed Candace Chieppo as practice leader. She is responsible for delivering coverage and service to The Mechanic Group’s independent agents, while driving strategic initiatives and client engagement.
Chieppo has 27 years of insurance industry experience, joining The Mechanic Group from Hudson Insurance Group, where she served as assistant director. Her previous roles include vice president/senior underwriter at Victor Insurance and positions at Travelers Insurance, Marsh, and Lockton.
Foster Appointed Chair of New York State Workers’ Compensation Board
New York Governor Kathy Hochul appointed Freida D. Foster as chair of the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB). Foster has been a Board member since 2009 and vice chair since 2016. Before joining the Workers’ Compensation Board, Foster was a public relations manager at Burson-Marsteller.
Former Chair Clarissa M. Rodriguez stepped down from the role in July and will continue to serve as a board member. Board member Renee Delgado has been appointed vice chair. Governor Hochul appointed Delgado as a board member in 2022.
