Bermuda-based Trenwick Group Ltd. announced the appointment of Alan L. Hunte, currently the group’s Chief Accounting Officer, as its new Executive VP and CFO.
Hunte will replace Coleman D. Ross, who is departing Trenwick on March 31st in order to accept a position as Chief Financial Officer of The Phoenix Companies, Inc. in Hartford, CT.
Hunte previously served as the CFO of Trenwick Group Inc. (Trenwick’s predecessor company) for seventeen years until 2000.
James F. Billett, Jr., Trenwick’s Chairman, President and, CEO praised Ross’ efforts on behalf of the company, and noted that the new opportunity he has accepted with the Phoenix Companies will enable him to return to his home in Connecticut. He noted that the changeover would go smoothly, stating that “The transition from Coleman to Alan will be seamless. When Coleman arrived, Alan became the Group’s Chief Accounting Officer and anticipated having the opportunity to return to the Chief Financial Officer’s role upon Coleman’s retirement or departure. The directors and I are fully confident in Alan’s abilities to resume responsibility for the oversight and management of the Group’s financial affairs.”
