Assurex Global, the commercial insurance and risk management brokerage group, announced the appointment of Richard H. Edwards as President and CEO, effective on June 3.
Outgoing Assurex Global President Thomas W. Harvey and Board Chairman Karen K. Farris jointly announced Edwards selection.
His background is in international banking. A former executive with JP Morgan Chase and its predecessor firms, he took an active role in consolidating Chase’s merger with Chemical Bank, and has lived and worked in London and Singapore managing “a $100 million-plus business operating in 50 countries.”
“With his proven ability to manage widely disparate business and geographic cultures, Rick Edwards is ideally suited to lead Assurex Global,” Farris stated. She noted that the cooperative now includes independent insurance brokers on six continents. “Assurex Global delivers seamless global insurance, risk management and employee benefits products and services from more than 130 offices located in every major city of the globe,” she continued.
“Rick Edwards has the international experience and business savvy necessary to help our clients manage their global risks, while helping Assurex Global Partners achieve unsurpassed growth,” she concluded.
