Aon Corp. announced that Clement Booth will be joining the company as CEO of Aon Re International, a unit of Aon Re Global, as of October 1, 2003. His appointment comes in conjunction with Aon’s announcement of the establishment of its global reinsurance brokerage unit, which it describes as “the largest reinsurance brokerage firm in the world.” (See previous article)
Booth, who will be based in the U.K., will also serve as chief administrative officer for Aon Re Global. He joins Aon from Munich Re, where he was a member of the Board of Management, overseeing Special and Financial Risks, Investor Relations, and Strategic Planning. He joined Munich Re in 1986. Previously, he worked in a variety of management and administrative roles with South African insurers.
“Adding a globally recognized reinsurance executive like Clem Booth to our company enhances the strength and depth of Aon Re Global’s management team, which in turn positions us to build even further on our strength as the global leader in the reinsurance brokerage business,” stated Patrick G. Ryan, Aon’s chairman and CEO.
