The Insurance Bureau of Canada announced that Jane Voll has been appointed Vice-President, Policy Development and Chief Economist, effective February 2, 2004. She had been acting in the role since last October.
“This role is critical to all activities IBC undertakes on behalf of its members,” stated Stan Griffin, IBC President and CEO. “Jane Voll has already proven she is up to the job. She embodies the qualities of integrity, leadership and perseverance for which IBC strives as an organization.”
Since joining IBC in 1993, Voll has worked within the insurance industry to develop and advance industry positions on a variety of issues. She has also served on the Canadian delegation for the United Nations’ International Decade for Natural Disaster Reduction, has advised the Institute for Catastrophic Loss Reduction on planning and research, and served as Secretary to IBC’s Canadian Availability Task Force.
She is a graduate of the Senior Executive Fellow’s program at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard and holds a graduate degree in Economics from the University of Toronto and an Honours degree in Economics, Finance and Accounting from Wilfrid Laurier University. Voll worked as an economist at the Ontario Ministry of Finance before joining the IBC.
