The Insurance Bureau of Canada announced that Lee Stem has been appointed as Vice-President, Information Technology, effective immediately.
“Following a comprehensive search and the consideration of several candidates, Lee Stem has emerged as the best choice for IBC’s Vice-President, Information Technology,” stated Terri MacLean, IBC Executive VP for Information and Investigations.
“I am looking forward to the challenge that lies ahead,” Stem commented. “IBC is committed to providing high-quality products and services that meet the needs of the industry. To do this, we will need to review our core IT capabilities for collecting and analyzing industry data to support the services of IBC.”
Stem has been acting as IBC’s Vice-President, Information Technology, on a part-time basis since October 2003. Prior to joining IBC, he was CEO of Chartwell Inc., a management consulting company serving the financial services and government sectors. Stem has experience working within the insurance industry and has worked as a consultant to IBC since 1992. “He has a demonstrated record in effectively planning for, managing and implementing information technology in support of business objectives,” said the announcement.
