The Belgian government said on Monday it would appeal against a court ruling threatening to derail a state-led break-up of stricken financial group Fortis and part sale to France’s BNP Paribas (See previous article).
Prime Minister Yves Leterme told a news conference the government would appeal as an affected third party and public holding agency SFPI would seek to take the case to the Supreme Court.
