Beazley announced that Mark Vaughan has joined the company as deputy head of its reinsurance division. He moves to Beazley from Catlin, where he was senior class underwriter on the reinsurance team.
Vaughan previously worked for Catlin in Bermuda and was a member of the team that opened Catlin’s Bermuda office in 2002. He has over 19 years experience in the insurance industry.
Beazley also noted that its reinsurance business “has steadily grown over the years, writing premiums of $188.6 million in 2012. The London based team, which focuses on building strong, long term relationships with clients, has expanded its international presence in recent years through offices in Munich and Singapore.”
Patrick Hartigan, head of Beazley’s reinsurance division, said: “I am delighted that Mark has joined the Beazley team. Mark has a deep understanding of the reinsurance market and a strong track record in building new business. He has a great reputation in the broker market and will play a key role in helping us achieve our growth objectives.”
