W. R. Berkley Corporation announced the formation of Berkley International Seguros Colombia S.A., which it said would “provide a full range of commercial insurance products, including construction all risk, surety, general liability, directors and officers liability, select classes of professional liability and cargo.”
Berkley Insurance Company entered the Colombian reinsurance market by establishing a representative office in Bogot谩 in 2014.
Sylvia Luz Rinc贸n has been named president and CEO of Berkley International Seguros Colombia. She has more than 20 years of experience in the property and casualty insurance market in Colombia and leads an outstanding team. Jaime Alberto Aramburo, who has more than 20 years of insurance and reinsurance experience, leads the representative office.
Berkley’s Chairman and CEO William R. Berkley commented: “We are pleased to enter the insurance market in Colombia through the establishment of Berkley International Seguros Colombia. Colombia is a fast growing insurance market with a strong economy. Establishing a new local presence with an experienced leader like Sylvia will enable us to serve the unique needs of businesses in her market.”
