Endurance Specialty Holdings Ltd., a Bermuda-based specialty provider of property and casualty insurance and reinsurance, announced that Giles Quartly has joined the company senior vice president, head of International Casualty Insurance.
Quartly will be responsible for Endurance’s international general liability insurance business and establishing a presence for Endurance in the London casualty market. Quartly will be based in Endurance’s London office and will report to Richard Housley, chief underwriting officer and active underwriter, Endurance at Lloyd’s.
Quartly joined Endurance from CV Starr where he was chief underwriter general liability. Quartly joined CV Starr in 2012 and achieved considerable growth and diversification in their general liability book of business over his tenure. He has worked for the past 20 years in casualty insurance, including similar casualty underwriting roles at Argo, Allianz and QBE. He is a graduate of Sheffield University.
Housley commented, “Giles is a hands-on leader with strong relationships among brokers in the London market, considerable experience in the Lloyd’s market, and a demonstrated track record of growing a diversified global portfolio. I look forward to working with him as we build an international casualty team and add yet another important product line to our growing capabilities within the London market.”
