Jin-Yong Cai, a TPG Capital partner and the former head of the World Bank’s investment arm, joined the board of insurance broker Aon Plc.
He was appointed to the board’s finance and organization and compensation committees, the London-based firm said Wednesday in a regulatory filing. Cai, 57, will serve until Aon’s annual meeting in 2017, when he would be up for re-election by shareholders.
Insurers and brokers have been appointing directors with strong finance backgrounds in recent months as companies seek to boost profitability amid low interest rates.
At TPG, Cai seeks out possible deals in emerging markets in Asia, Africa and Latin America. Before joining TPG in February, he was chief executive officer of the International Finance Corp.
