Tokio Marine Kiln has appointed Gary Burke to the special risks division in its London office. Burke will focus on trade credit and political risks.
Previously he worked for American International Group (AIG) where he held different underwriting roles. Most recently, he was a senior credit underwriter in the excess of loss team (between July 2014 and November 2016). He joined AIG as an underwriter in 2011 in the bank receivable financing team and ultimately became senior underwriter.
Before that, Burke was with Euler Hermes UK as an assistant risk underwriter (between July 2010 and February 2011).
Commenting on the appointment, Peter Merton, departmental head of marine, aviation & special risks at TMK, said: “Gary joins us at an important time, as demand for covering these risks continues to climb.”
