Ocean International Reinsurance Co. Ltd. has opened a representative office in Mexico to be headed by Rebecca Pe帽a.
The office was opened in Feb. 19, 2018, after receiving regulatory approval from Mexico’s National Insurance and Bonding Commission on Sept. 26, 2017.
Pe帽a has had 18 years of experience in the re/insurance industry, including five years when she led production areas for Mexico and the Caribbean. She joins Ocean Re from Lockton M茅xico where she was reinsurance senior vice president. Prior to her tenure at Lockton, she was deputy director of production for Colemont de M茅xico and product manager at Benfield M茅xico.
The authorization of the company’s representative officer in Mexico “represents another stage in our solid development in the insurance and reinsurance industry, and commits us to continue promoting and innovating, for the benefit of our customers and friends,” said Carlos G. Chamorro, executive director of the company.
Ocean Re’s Mexico office is located at: Insurgentes Sur # 1431, 10th floor, Col. Insurgentes Mixcoac, Delegaci贸n Benito Ju谩rez, CDMX, CP 03910.
Operating since May 2006, Ocean Re is headquartered in Barbados. It also has a representative office in Panama and is planning to open one in Colombia.
