PERILS AG has issued its second loss estimate of €1.63 billion for Europe’s windstorm Friederike, also known as David.
Friederike caused property damage in the British Isles, Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany on Jan. 17-18, 2018, said PERILS, the independent Zurich-based organization that provides industry catastrophe insurance data.
On Feb. 28, PERILS issued its first loss estimate of €1.5 billion (US$1.9 billion at current exchange rates) for Friederike.
Users of the PERILS Industry Exposure & Loss Database can find more information about the event in the PERILS Portal under the section “Industry Loss”. In line with the PERILS loss reporting schedule, the third loss estimate for Friederike will be released on July 17, 2018, six months after the event.
