Minnesota’s newly elected Republican Governor Tim Pawlenty has named Glenn Wilson, currently VP for U.S. Bank Home Mortgage, as the new head of the State’s Commerce Department, which exercises regulatory control over the insurance industry.
Wilson, an experienced banker, is the former head of “Ginnie Mae,” the federal agency that provides and oversees home mortgage loans. He cut short his retirement to join U.S. Bank Home Mortgage last year.
According to an article in the Pioneer Press, Wilson, a fellow Republican, said he agreed to serve in the Commerce post as he was attracted to Pawlent’ys “positive leadership, commitment, dedication and like values.”
