For 684,000 North Dakotans, there are now 1 million vehicles.
North Dakota Transportation Department director Francis Ziegler reports Tuesday the agency registered more than 1 million vehicles last year. It’s an all-time high.
The registration number includes all sorts of machines — cars, trucks, boats, trailers, motorcycles, buses, snowmobiles and motor homes.
Ziegler says it’s a reflection of western North Dakota’s booming oil-producing region and the robust economy statewide.
He says vehicle dealers across the state say they’re doing good business.
