Michigan agriculture officials are seeking proposals for food safety education and training grants.
The Michigan Department of Agriculture & Rural Development says grants from the Food Safety Education Fund are competitive.
The grants are designed to provide training and education to consumers on food safety, and training and education to food service establishment employees.
Michigan governmental and nonprofit organizations and entities are eligible to receive them.
Proposals are due no later than 5 p.m. on Oct. 31. Grants will be awarded for projects that run from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31, 2017.
