The Indiana Department of Insurance (IDOI) launched a new online form for insurers and entities to cybersecurity events.
The online form can be found on .
“If an insurer and/or other licensed entity experiences any cybersecurity event that requires notice, we are directing them to fill out and report the event using the new online form,” said IndianaDepartment of Insurance Commissioner Amy L. Beard.
Indiana Insurance Data Security Law, passed in 2021 requires insurers and other entities licensed by the IDOI to develop, implement, and maintain an information security program, investigate any cybersecurity events, and notify the IDOI of such events, according to the department.
The IDOI serves as the regulatory body to receive and enforce cybersecurity events involving licensed insurers and entities under law.
Insurance companies domiciled in Indiana and subject to the Insurance Data Security Law must file with the Indiana Department of Insurance a certification that the insurer is in compliance with the Insurance Data Security Law, annually on or before April 15th.
