A regulation proposed by Massachusetts insurers would allow customers to buy an endorsement that guarantees the use of original equipment manufacturer parts in insured repairs to their vehicles.
A hearing on the proposal will be held at 10 a.m. EST on Feb. 7 at the Division of Insurance. The proposal has to be approved by the Massachusetts insurance commissioner.
The Automobile Insurers Bureau of Massachusetts drafted the optional endorsements to the collision and comprehensive sections of the Massachusetts standard auto policy and filed it with the Division in January.
