The pair has filed suit against Mercer and its parent, Marsh & McLennan Cos. Inc, seeking unspecified compensatory and punitive damages.
The complaint, filed in Mercer County Superior Court in Trenton, alleges the two women were subjected to harassment, including physical contact and sexually explicit conduct, by their supervisor William Bevilacqua.
According to the complaint, the women filed numerous complaints with department manager Richard DeFrehn who allegedly ignored them.
When the company received formal notice of the women’s allegations, an internal investigation began, and Mr. Bevilacqua and Mr. DeFrehn were terminated.
