Cigna Corp. has named its chief executive, H. Edward Hanway, as chairman of the board. Hanway, who has worked for Cigna for 22 years, succeeds Wilson H. Taylor who will retire at the end of the year.
Hanway was named chief operating officer in January 1999, and took over as chief executive a year later. He also served as president of Cigna HealthCare, the company’s largest division, and was president of Cigna International for seven years.
