Willis Re, the reinsurance unit of Willis Group Holdings, the global insurance broker, announced a senior appointment strengthening its Retrocession operations.
Bob King, who most recently served as senior vice president at Maiden Lane Intermediaries, has joined Willis Re as a senior vice president, working out of the New York office. He will be responsible for producing and marketing Retro business emanating from the U.S., London and Bermuda offices and for identifying and developing new business opportunities.
King has an extensive background in the London and domestic U.S. reinsurance marketplace, and has expertise in Domestic and International Property/Casualty, Reinsurance Assumed/LMX, and Financial and ART methods. Prior to Maiden Lane (2000-2003), he spent 13 years (1987-2000) with Guy Carpenter and two predecessor firms.
