Todd Richardson has been promoted to regional vice president – State Auto Middle Markets Insurance (SAMMI) for the company’s Western region, which includes Utah, Colorado, Arizona, Oklahoma and Texas.
Richardson will manage the SAMMI underwriting teams based in Austin, Texas, and Peoria, Ariz. He will also be responsible for recruiting sales and underwriting middle market and large account talent.
Richardson joined State Auto in 2008, previously serving as business insurance manager and as an account executive within the SAMMI business unit. Prior to State Auto, he served as senior middle market sales underwriter for The Hartford and Great American Insurance Company in sales, marketing and underwriting capacities. Richardson began his career as a casualty claims adjuster with Transamerica and quickly moved into supervisory roles with Foremost Insurance Company and Great American.
Richardson joins the Western Region’s senior leadership team, which includes Lyndell Haigood, RVP – personal lines; Nancy Funari, RVP – business insurance (Texas/Oklahoma); Tim Goeller, RVP – business insurance (Arizona/Colorado/Utah) and Greg Rose, regional financial officer. He will report to Regional President Gerald Ladner.
