BB&T Insurance Services has added flood insurance to its suite of online products. Flooding is the number one natural disaster in the United States, yet most homeowners do not have flood insurance protection for their homes and personal possessions. Experts say it takes only a few inches of water to cause thousands of dollars in damage.
BB&T’s online program allows homeowners to get a quote, make their purchase and be covered in approximately 30 days. BB&T writes and services flood insurance coverage directly through The Hartford, a participating Write Your Own insurance company of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). A policy normally takes 30 days from the date of purchase to go into effect. BB&T also offers online auto, homeowners, renters, travel and pet insurance.
