Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has launched a full line of inland marine insurance products in the U.S., including builder’s risks, contractor’s equipment, installation floaters, inland transit, motor truck cargo, warehouse legal liability and miscellaneous floaters.
According to John Evans, vice president of Marine for BHSI, the new inland marine products are designed to complement the company’s ocean cargo and contractor’s builder’s risk coverages.
BHSI’s Inland Marine coverages are available on an admitted basis in all 50 states and underwritten using American Association of Insurance Services (AAIS) policy wordings.
In August, BHSI announced that it was underwriting marine insurance in Australia and New Zealand.
BHSI provides commercial property, casualty, healthcare professional liability, executive and professional lines, surety, travel, programs, and homeowners insurance. It underwrites on the paper of Berkshire Hathaway’s National Indemnity group of insurance companies. Based in Boston, BHSI has offices in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.,, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, San Ramon, Calif.,, Stevens Point, Auckland, Hong Kong, Melbourne, Singapore, Sydney and Toronto.
