XL Catlin’s insurance operations has named Nancy Bewlay as global chief underwriting officer, Casualty.
In her new role, Bewlay assumes underwriting and portfolio management for all of XL Catlin’s Casualty insurance coverages globally. She will be based in Stamford, Connecticut, reporting to Neil Robertson, chief executive, Insurance Underwriting.
Bewlay joins XL Catlin with more than 25 years’ experience in re/insurance with a concentration in primary and excess specialty casualty lines. In her recent tenure with Swiss Re, she served as managing director and head of Casualty for the U.S. and Canada, responsible for the development and management of the company’s casualty portfolio. Bewlay began her career as an underwriter for General Star Management Co. in the Excess/Umbrella division.
