Dick’s Sporting Goods on Wednesday said it discovered unauthorized access to its information systems.
In a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Dick’s said it made the discovery of the cyberattack on Aug. 21 and immediately “activated its cybersecurity response plan and engaged with its external cybersecurity experts to investigate, isolate and contain the threat.”
Federal authorities were also notified, said Dick’s, adding that it doesn’t know whether the incident disrupted business operations but it believes the incident is not material. Certain confidential information was accessed, the sporting goods retail company said.
The incident remain under investigation, Dick’s said.
