Officials say a construction worker has died in a trench collapse at a Southeast Texas refinery.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office says the accident happened Tuesday afternoon at a construction site at the Total Port Arthur refinery.
Investigators say the victim was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The name of the 65-year-old contract worker was not immediately released.
A statement from the company expressed condolences for the death and said the accident did not involve refinery operations.
