A powerful thunderstorm in the afternoon on May 16 produced four tornadoes as it moved into Louisiana from Texas
The National Weather Service, in a survey released Saturday, says all tornadoes had winds of 90 mph to 100 mph.
The storm also brought straight-line winds up to 105 mph in northern DeSoto and southern Caddo parishes.
One person was injured west of Waskom, Texas. Another was injured at a mobile home park in southwest Shreveport.
The first two twisters damaged buildings at Five Star Builders and Red Diamond Oilfield Services near Waskom. The storm paralleled Interstate 20, with a third tornado damaging a truck stop near Greenwood, La., and then running 5 miles into Shreveport, damaging houses and mobile homes. A fourth brief tornado hit near Stonewall, La., close to the straight-line wind damage.
