Scottish American has completed the acquisition of Southern States General Agency in Ruston, La.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“SSGA allows us to partner with people we enjoy working with, and the benefit of decades of underwriting experience in a region where local knowledge is crucial to profitability,” said Janet Beaver of Scottish American. “SSGA has an impressive employee tenure and have built a culture to be proud of; we are pleased they want to be a part of ours.”
Larry McCartney will become the new president of SSGA. The rest of the SSGA team will remain in place.
SSGA writes in Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas and Mississippi and will continue to trade under SSGA.
California-based Scottish American has 17 offices in the Northeast, California and a recent addition in Austin, Texas.
