A health care call center is expanding its hours to sign up Kentuckians for health insurance through the Affordable Care Act.
The Lexington Herald-Leader reports the call center for Kentucky’s program, called Kynect, has added Sunday hours to operate from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Operators will continue taking calls at 1-855-459-6328 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
State officials are pushing to enroll an estimated 640,000 Kentuckians who are without health insurance.
Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear’s office also says libraries across Kentucky will hold enrollment sessions. Kentuckians can contact local libraries for details.
People signing up for health insurance by Dec. 23 are expected to have coverage beginning this coming Jan. 1.
People can sign up through the website, Kynect.Ky.Gov, or by calling the center.
