The Pasco County School District announced the death of Ciara McKeon on Friday afternoon.
The 28-year-old woman had been taken to a local hospital with serious injuries following the Thursday morning incident outside Anclote High School, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report. McKeon later was flown to Tampa General Hospital, where she died of her injuries Friday.
The FHP report said the 24-year-old male driver “failed to observe” the pedestrian. No charges were immediately filed.
