Tornadoes, strong winds and flash flooding hit parts of north Florida and Alabama over the weekend, damaging dozens of homes and commercial and farm structures, weather and local news sites reported.
In the Florida Panhandle, tornadoes ripped roofs from homes and businesses and toppled a gas station’s portico in Esto, near the Alabama line. At least 18 buildings were damaged, the Weather Channel . The Holmes County Sheriff said one person was injured.
In and around the resort city of Destin, Florida, on the Gulf Coast, multiple buildings and vehicles were damaged from a possible tornado, and widespread power outages were reported, the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office said, according to local .
In Alabama, tornado warnings and flash flood warnings were posted Saturday and Sunday for southern and west-central parts of the state as the line of thunderstorms moved across the region.
