Two former professional football players, a country music artist and a college athletics administrator have put their names, images and likenesses behind a new, concierge insurance program for high net-worth individuals, athletes, entertainers and businesses.
“There were times during my career when I had millions in assets but didn’t even know if my insurance policies were truly reflecting my situation,” said Champ Bailey, an NFL Hall of Fame cornerback and University of Georgia star player who is backing the new firm, Pro-tect Insurance. “That isn’t acceptable, and it’s easily avoidable. PRO-tect is redefining insurance coverage by taking a high-touch concierge approach.”
Former University of Georgia and Washington Redskins runningback Keith Marshall, co-founder of The Player’s Lounge video content site, and musician Matt Stillwell also are on board, the company said in a news release. Steven Farmer, who spent 25 years in collegiate athletics administration, is the managing partner and co-founder of Pro-tect.
Pro-tect, headquartered in Atlanta, is a division of Sanford Company, an insurance brokerage based in Macon, Georgia. John Neel Jr. is CEO of Sanford.
