The Hartford Financial Services Group has appointed Gary E. Mathewson vice president and regional manager for the West Coast operations of Hartford Specialty, the company’s business unit that addresses the risk management needs of large companies and those with multiple exposures.
Effective immediately, he replaces David Kuhn, who left the company to pursue other opportunities. In his new position, Mathewson will have responsibility for Hartford Specialty’s range of product offerings, including those provided by the risk management division, specialty casualty operations, First State Insurance Services and the company’s third-party administrator, Specialty Risk Services.
Mathewson joins The Hartford from Kemper Insurance, where he was West Coast managing executive.
