ABD Insurance and Financial Services, the largest privately held insurance brokerage and employee benefit consulting organization in the Western U.S., recently announced the hire of Craig Calkins as vice president. Calkins brings 23 years of insurance brokerage experience to ABD and will be responsible for production and service of property/casualty business for ABD’s Torrance, Calif. office.
Calkins will direct all duties related to growing the ABD Torrance Property and Casualty practice, including recruiting, business development and insurance company appointments.
Prior to joining ABD, Calkins headed sales and service for large complex risk management clients at Aon Risk Services. From 1990 to 1992, he assisted the sales and production process through extensive marketing of new business prospects with Marsh & McLennan, a risk and insurance services firm.
Preceding his tours at Marsh and Aon, Calkins held a variety of management positions at Royal Insurance Company, Hartford Insurance and Jardine Insurance Brokers.
ABD Insurance and Financial Services is based in Redwood City and has 10 offices throughout California.
