San Diego-based HNC Software Inc., a provider of high-end analytics and decision management software, announced that OneBeacon Insurance Group has selected HNC Outsourced Bill Review Services to assess and reprice its workers’ compensation medical bills.
The software is expected to enable OneBeacon to reduce costs and improve its imaging, workflow and advanced decision management capabilities.
In addition, OneBeacon has licensed HNC MIRA庐 Claims Advisor For Reserving to enable the company to realize more accurate loss reserving on its workers’ comp insurance claims.
Outsourced Bill Review utilizes a combination of several HNC products, including HNC CompAdvisor鈩� (which includes advanced Imaging/Optical Character Recognition) and HNC Decision Manager for Medical Bills (which offers extensive, customizable rules to automate the review and repricing of more than 80 percent of medical bills while further increasing savings).
“Through our partnership with HNC, OneBeacon expects to realize significant savings and streamline operations related to our workers’ compensation business,” explained Peter McCarron, director of Workers’ Compensation at OneBeacon.
OneBeacon’s bills will be processed at HNC’s Outsourced Cost Containment Service Centers in Coppell, Texas and Irvine, Calif.
