The California State Compensation Insurance Fund’s San Jose District Office will be hosting a free Restaurant Health and Safety workshop to help restaurant owners create a comprehensive safety training program and comply with state and federal workplace regulations.
The workshop will be held November 1 and feature occupational and environmental health educator, Diane Bush, who coordinates the Restaurant Supervisor Safety Training Program at the University of California-Berkeley Labor Occupational Health Program.
All participants will receive educational materials including training guides, safety tip sheets and safety orientation checklists.
The workshop is designed to help restaurant managers and owners to:
meet CAL/OSHA training requirements; engage workers in the safety programs; identify ways to prevent injuries; and will provide a one-hour safety-training seminar tailored to their restaurant.
The workshop will be held from 2-4 p.m. at State Fund’s San Jose District Office located at 6203 San Ignacio Boulevard, San Jose, CA. To register, please call (415) 975-2411 or fax an RVSP to (415) 975-2444.
The workshop is part of a series of educational programs State Compensation Insurance Fund holds throughout the state each year to help employers create safe workplaces, inform them about new workers’ compensation regulations and to reduce workers’ compensation insurance costs.
