Reno, Nev.-based Employers has appointed Morton Large vice president of underwriting operations for Strategic Markets. Through its subsidiaries, Employers provides workers’ compensation insurance to small businesses with low to medium risks. Through its Strategic Markets unit, the company partners with other industries, such as payroll services and health insurers, to integrate workers’ compensation with other small business insurance products.
Prior to joining the company, Large held a number of executive positions during eight years with The Hartford, and most recently served as Indianapolis branch manager for all property and casualty lines. Large also served in commercial lines underwriting and management roles during nearly 10 years with the St. Paul Companies.
