A Moscow, Idaho, hospital is suing the motorist who crashed into a fire hydrant and sent thousands of gallons of water into the hospital in 2007.
Court documents say the water caused more than $10,000 in damages. Darrel Aherin, a Lewiston attorney for the hospital, says insurance covered only a portion of the damage to sections of the hospital’s ground floor.
The lawsuit names Daniel Valasek, who is accused of driving the car on May 5, 2007 and hitting the hydrant. He was later convicted of driving under the influence, according to court documents.
Other defendants named in the suit include Ryan Tyson, who owned the car driven by Valasek, and Tyson’s parents, Robert Tyson and Gayla Tyson, of Caldwell.
