The deadline is nearing for Nevada residents and businesses affected by November’s brush fire in Reno to apply for Small Business Administration disaster loans.
The Caughlin Fire burned more than 3 square miles and destroyed or damaged 42 homes.
The deadline to file for property damage loans is Feb. 6.
Homeowners can apply for up to $200,000 to repair or replace destroyed real estate, and homeowners and renters are also eligible for up to $40,000 to repair or replace personal property.
Businesses and nonprofit organization can borrow up to $2 million.
In addition, the SBA also offers Economic Injury Disaster Loans to businesses and nonprofits to help meet working capital needs caused by the disaster. The deadline to apply for those loans is Sept. 7.
