Salt Lake City, Utah-based The MGIS Companies Inc., a provider of insurance products and services specifically for physicians, named Michael G. Green vice president of IT operations.
Green will lead the development and implementation of strategic IT systems for MGIS and its subsidiary companies.
Green has more than 16 years of experience in IT management, fiscal planning and systems architecture and design. Most recently he was data center operations manager at ADP AdvancedMD, where he was responsible for technical strategy and the IT implementation for a provider of cloud-based solutions for medical billing and practice management suites. Previously, Green was senior platinum engineer and QA analyst for Symantec PGP Corp. Prior to that he was Information technology manager for Prestige Financial, where he managed all IT infrastructure and supporting operations.
MGIS provides products and services to more than 10,000 physician groups, 900,000 group members, and 300,000 physicians nationwide. The MGIS group disability policies are backed by Sun Life Financial. The MGIS medical-professional liability insurance policies are backed by Freedom Specialty Insurance Co.
