A California mother has filed a second lawsuit against a school district, saying it failed to keep her special needs son safe even after losing the first lawsuit and agreeing to improve his supervision.
The Bay Area New Group reports that the mother sued Richmond’s West Contra Costa school district in 2013, saying her son was inappropriately touched in a restroom. The district paid the family a $1.475 million judgment in that case.
A district employee discovered the plaintiff and another student together inside a restroom in March 2015. The lawsuit says the boy later told his family that he and the student had touched each other’s genitals.
School Board trustee Todd Groves says he can’t discuss issues regarding individual students. Other board members didn’t return multiple requests for comment.
